As you can see by these pictures, Taylor's newest obsession is Band-Aids, or, "dandaids" if you speak Taylorese. She craves the need for one so badly that sometimes she'll come into the room, look to make sure I'm looking, and fake-stub her toe, run over to me, say "I sad! Dandaid?", so I give her one, and she smiles and says, "OH! All betta!" Since I've decided many months ago to carefully choose my battles with my headstrong toddler, this is one of those things I don't mind giving in to. I went to the Dollar Store, stocked up on Band-Aids, and let her have one if she's feeling the need. You can also see that she is also very concerned that Bailey, aka The Worlds Most Patient Cat, may need a Dand-aid for anything that may ail him as well. *No animals were harmed in the taking of this picture; in fact, strangely, he was purring and flexing his paws in ecstasy. *

She's so beautiful, with that fabulous smile that lights up her face! She's definitely the Dandaid Queen! You actually had time to post this on your first day at work! Sheesh! Wonder woman!
ReplyDeleteGood god, I absolutely love Bailey (oh, and Taylor too ;)). He is just the most wonderful old sweetie pie ever. What a great cat for Tay Tay to grow up with.
ReplyDeleteI second Mom's comment that Taylor has a fabulous smile. You can't help but feel good when you see it.
It wasn't until I read the story behind the pictures did I notice the dandaid on Bailey's forehead. LOL!
ReplyDeleteYes, that smile of Taylor's brightens up her whole face--how can one not smile when they see that glow of glee and joy!? And those beautiful golden curls. A thought just entered my mind: her Great-Grandma Martinek would have loved her to pieces. As would have Great-Grandpa Martinek.
BTW, a former co-worker has a son and blogs about him. He too went through a band-aid period--some of the pictures showed him with LOTS of bandaids all over him. Wonder what it is about bandaids that interests toddlers so much?
Hi again,
ReplyDeleteWas here checking for new posts, when I noticed, hey, is that a jack o' lantern in the back of the second picture? Fun!
So funny you noticed that! Ha! Actually, it's a ceramic pumpkin with a black cat next to it that lights up inside. (did we have that when we were kids?) Not sure if I've decided to carve pumpkins with her next weekend, or just paint them....
ReplyDeleteOh I remember that figurine(?). That's cool that you still have it.
